    My top recommendation would be Fallout 3. It'll last you a while

    If you haven't played Diablo 2 with xpac, that's also a good one. For more casual stuff, Peggle Deluxe and Peggle Nights are AWESOME time wasters. I've poured so many hours into those two games. World of Goo is great also.

    If you're more like the trippy-type, you might like Audiosurf. That's definitely a fun one but only for so long IMO.

    And finally, I'd recommend stocking up on single player games when Steam has its sales. I have Bioshock and Beyond Good and Evil waiting to be downloaded for a rainy day

    Definately Bioshock. Other good ones are COD4 , Call of Duty world at war.

    Prince of Persia series is what I'm playing right now.


    S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl with mods is quite possibly the best single player FPS experience you can get.

    Kotor 2 is also good. Mass Effect is a shooter/rpg and is preeeetty decent
