I get the point of the article, but I think the point of the article is flawed, and the article is written by someone who engages in deeply partisan politics as it is. He also didn't "promise to put an end to partisan politics". He just said he would "reach across the aisle", or that sort of thing.

In any case, the article wasn't "funny" or "wtf"... so let's move on.

What I don't understand is why climate change is a democrat issue. I mean, members of both parties are gonna be fucked if we don't do something, so what's the other party complaining about? Do repubs still have their head in the sand?

To be fair, the Republicans are being fantastically stupid in their attempts to kill health care reform. So in this case what some people call partisan I call "acting in the best interests of the American people."

You know, like it's his job to do.

But to the point, I find it amusing that the Republicans are complaining of Obama's ideological partisanship when he has utterly betrayed the progressive wing of his own party (i.e. continued detainment of Guantanamo prisoners after acquittal, escalation of the Afghan war, blocking the release of White House documents that should be public, warrantless wiretapping, dropping card check, and last but not least a half-assed health care bill)
