My friend graduates this term and she's got a job in New York starting summer making ~100k

She told me to hold out for 85, lol.

Cost of living in nyc is a wee bit more expensive than Toronto, so there are hidden costs in making that much. Though she'll probably be working 100 hour weeks so you know, that's awesome right?

I watched Dragon's Den last night, and during Kevin O'Leary's commentary, he said that he was fired from an ice-cream shop and it was so traumatizing, that he never worked for anybody ever again. Inspiring, really. Made me think for a while.

I think that's the way to go, if you have the drive and ambition. And, of course, a good idea that people would pay for.

I would looove to work for myself. Its a lot of effort, but I think the emotional payout would be extremely satisfying.
