I'm trying to condition myself to think "it's not for techies" every time I look at it, but I still can't quite get myself in the appropriate mindset. Thus I agree - I don't get why so many people are buying it.

I understand why Apple is doing so well, financially, but fail to comprehend why anyone would spend their money on it!

The margin on those things has to be huge!! I know the touch is way less than what it retails for. The pad is just a bigger one of those, no exceptions!

Ok so It's 399$ with a T-Mobile contract.
Can I play angry birds or Civ Revolution on it? If not the want do not. A platform is only as strong as the software support it receives.

The Galaxy Tab is a disappointment. The 16gb one is more than the 16gb iPad, and apparently the 7" screen is too small to make it a good tablet, and too big to make it pocketable.

I'd agree. The iPad's screen is a 'just right' size imo. I can type on the landscape-oriented keyboard without error, I wouldn't want to type double-handed on a 7" screen and its probably too wide for a double-thumb approach.

I can get a 7" Android tablet for like $150 US right now, so this doesn't bring much more to the table.
