hay guise I hear games is srs
And by building, you mean losing.
Home attendance averages:
2008-09 season: 18949
2009-10 season: 17951
About 1000 less people per game (so far).
And if you think the recent winning streak helped, their 2nd-lowest attended game in of the past three years was January 21 2010 (in the middle of their winning streak).
Their lowest attended game?
The home opener from last year.
Ouch.
They also went bankrupt a few years ago. When you see games, you see a lot more of the opposing team's colors than the red and white. You cant fight the stats. Toronto has a huge fan base full of die hard fans. They are willing to pay the highest ticket prices to go. They sell out every single game. (yes exagerated but almost every game). When sens had that run for the cup. Lots of people went on the band wagon. And i found that it was hilarious that half the people that were so called "dedicated" sens fans, didnt know what an offside was. Oh thats a true fan of the sport. i'm not saying that all fans are like that, but i've talked to a lot of people that claim they are fans but dont know anything about hockey. Sens fans and habs fans alike are the worst around here, but probably cause i live in Ottawa. If you like the senators for reals, good for you. They have great players and most nights its great hockey to watch. I must say that the only thing missing most nights is heart. (they dont hussle and they give up, Spezza and Alfie are my examples for that) Dont you dare fight me on that.
Your Failure Is My Success
shame they lost tonight - but put up a decent show against the sharks of all teams.
cuz san jose is fucking boss, and ottawa sucks
Ottawa beat some of the best teams in the league on that 11 and 0 streak. Including shutting out New Jersey. Beating Chicago 4-1, topping Vancouver 3-1 pretty much silencing the Sedin twins. Also beating Pittsburgh. Elliot hadn't allowed more than 2 goals against in that stretch.
While I'll agree that Spezza may not show up every night Alfredson like Fisher puts it all out there every night.
I don't mind Leafs fan being mad, their team is in " LAST " place. 21 points back of Ottawa. Hey if they win 11 in a row they may actually catch up.
We get to play again on March 6th in Ottawa.
My perfect example of a leafs fan was at the Columbus game I went to a while back. Wearing a Kaberle Jersey he was also wearing a Blue Jackets hat. Band wagon jumpers. Or maybe he just likes last place teams.
